1. What we collect

  • Anonymous reports: gift amounts, venue costs and couple reports you choose to submit. These are not tied to your name, email or account.
  • Purchase info: if you buy the H.M.Y.G Pass, we store your email and a payment confirmation so you can restore it on other devices. Card details are handled by Stripe or Apple — we never see or store them.
  • Invites & polls: names, phone numbers or emails you enter for guests, RSVP answers, and anonymous poll votes.
  • Device storage: saved weddings, your Payback Ledger, pass status and invite host keys are kept in your browser's local storage on your device.
  • Basic technical data: like browser type and pages visited, used to keep the site working and secure.

2. How we use it

  • To calculate gift suggestions and show community benchmarks. Benchmarks only appear once at least 3 anonymous reports exist, so no single report can be identified.
  • To unlock and restore your pass, send sign-in links you request, and deliver invites and RSVPs.
  • We do not sell your personal information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.

3. Who we share it with

  • Service providers that help run the app: hosting and database, Stripe (web payments), Apple and RevenueCat (in-app purchases), and our AI provider for venue matching (which only receives the venue text you type).
  • Authorities, if required by law.

4. Your choices

  • Clear your browser storage to delete on-device data like your ledger and saved weddings.
  • Hosts can remove guests from an invite at any time.
  • Email us to access or delete your purchase record or any data linked to your email.

5. Kids

  • The app isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.

6. Changes

  • If we update this policy, we'll change the date below. Continuing to use the app means you accept the update.
